So my little bebe turned 10 months on the 4th. I am in total disbelief, it’s going by so incredibly fast. He doesn’t look like a baby anymore. (I just did a pouty lip while writing that) haha I never believed parents when they would say it goes by so fast, cherish the moments. I always thought,” Oh they’re just saying that”. But, Oh my goodness, is it so true. Two months and this little boy will be a year. Like what?? A Year! Seriously. Blows my mind. Enough with my disbelief, and on with his 10 month update.
He weighs a whoopin’ 22.8 lbs., 31 1/2 inches long. I know what you’re all thinking, I’m thinking the same, this little boy is going to be one big tall boy.
He is wearing 24 month clothing. Well mainly 24 month shirts and sleepers, 18 month pants. 24 month pants are too big around the waist.
His top teeth are coming through.
He is trying his hardest to walk. He walks around holding on to furniture and uses his little walker toy thing. Lol, I don’t know what its called. But, this little boy has so many bruises on his little legs from falling so much. Mama thinks it’s time to put a helmet and some pads on this little boy. He’s giving his mama way too many mini heart attacks. He’s too daring, it’s insane. I guess I should say he’s a boy! Right? Mama’s with boys, are all boys so daring? Please say yes, please say yes!
Along with being daring this lil stinker learned how to open door knobs. Especially the bathroom door because he always wants in there for bath time. He absolutely loves his bath time.
Favorite foods: Blueberries, bananas, yogurt, toast and turkey meat.
Food he tried and hated: a pickle lol yes a pickle, I was eating one and he started crying to try it so we let him and he regretted it haha
What he learned: he learned to say Nana (which is his grandma), Yep and No. He also learned to wave Hi and Bye and to blow kisses, he doesn’t blow kisses just does the hand movement. Which is literally the cutest thing EVER!
Loves: He loves to sing, or should I say, loves trying to sing as in make noises when music is playing. He loves being outside, he seriously throws a fit if we go inside and shut the door. Just loves swinging and now that the weather is warming up, we’re outside and going to the park a lot more often. He had his first time swinging on a swing, as well as first time touching the grass.
He got to celebrate his first Valentine’s Day! Got spoiled! Daddy had came home with new books and toys for him. He also got to wear his Valentine’s outfit to church!
He got to play in his first bounce houses at his cousin Avianna’s Birthday party, and of course he loved it.
Got to watch his first North Carolina Tar Heels Basketball game with his Daddy! Daddy’s favorite team. He tells Grayson that he is going to be playing there one day, and that we will be sitting front row at every one of his games! If he keeps up growing the way he is, I know for a fact he will be playing there and with Daddy’s skills to help teach him!
That’s about all the excitement he had in just a month!
Then my poor baby ended it with a trip to the ER. It was a very scary night because as first time parents we had no idea what was going on.
So that day he wasn’t really wanting to eat or drink his bottle, but we figured it was him teething cause that was affecting him. But he was acting a little different so the day before we had taken him to his doctor and his doctor had a chalked it up to his teething as well. The reason we had gone into the doctor that day was because he had about 4 or 5 episodes in the span of 2 weeks of where he would breath real deep then not be able to catch his breath then start coughing and choking. So I was very concerned at this point. He does have acid reflux (check out my story for that to know more) but I knew it was more then just his reflux. His doctor said it was his teething and that because his saliva was so thick he was having trouble swallowing it all. So ok, on to the next issue, I told him I was very concerned with the way he poops. (maybe TMI for some) But he would get so bright red in the face and push so hard that he would be grunting and start crying. And this had been going on for awhile now as well. Doctor said, “Oh, that must just be how he goes poop”. I was still not sure about that answer and I had even told my husband that when we left.
Ok so back to the day after when he wouldn’t eat. Come nighttime he had barely ate, but he drank a 7 oz bottle which he usually has a 8 1/2 oz bottle before bed, but at this point anything was good. We did everything normal, bedtime routine. I rocked him to sleep, he fell asleep, we put him in pack n play next to the bed. We went to bed. He started fussing so we thought he needed to burp again so my husband got him out burped him and started walking him back to sleep. He then projectile vomited everywhere on my husband. I jumped out of bed so fast and screaming and crying and freaking out. He had a horrible, horrible scream and cry. I grabbed him from my husband and was kissing & hugging him and trying to get him to catch his breath then it happened again. It was so scary it seemed like a movie, his projectile vomit seemed like it lasted a very long minute and shot what seemed like 10 feet forward (exaggeration but not really) He still couldn’t catch his breath and around his mouth was turning blue so off to the ER we went. On the way there, it happened again in the car.
To make a long story short they did an x-ray and found he had a huge blockage which seemed like was there for awhile doc said because his whole colon was full of air. The doctor was even shocked.
So then they did a suppository and had us wait to see if he would poop. He wasn’t pooping yet and had even fell asleep. so they released us. Went home and still nothing. We were expecting to wake up to a huge blowout. So, the next day we had to give him another suppository and finally he relieved himself later that day. Then, it was fart central which I was totally ok with. I would rub his belly with lotion every chance I got to help him out. So yeah, it was a rough time for him. It had been going on for awhile just wish his doctor would have listened to me, then he wouldn’t have been in this situation. Motherly Instincts!!
With all that being said he is doing so much better.
This is all the fun, exciting, and not so exciting stuff that Grayson experienced in this last month. Can’t wait to see what the next month will bring.
Products we’re loving this month: (check out my Baby Must Haves, a lot of those are the same)
Aquaphor Diaper Cream is still a must have. Couldn’t live without it.
Teething tablets, these for sure since he is teething.
Toys he’s loving this month:
His stuffed puppy dog he got from his cousin. Favorite toy by far. He kisses it and carries it everywhere he goes. And now in the mix is his stuffed mickey mouse. Can’t go anywhere without these two.
Books, absolutely loves books. He loves the My First Library book ones. He has Baby Einstein ones, Mickey Mouse, and Paw Patrol! Then of course his big 100 First Words book.
Then this one, don’t know what it’s called. Was gifted to him from his Aunt Josie! He absolutely loves it and could sit there and just keep pushing the button for a good while!
What are your babies/kids into? Has any other mama’s have these kind of issues with their little ones? Would love to hear your story and what you might have done!
